Corrieshalloch Gorge

Corrieshalloch Gorge and the Falls of Measach are located a few miles from Taigh a' Bhraoin on the main Ullapool road towards Inverness.  The spectacular natural chasm, which was cut into the rock during the last Scottish Ice Age over 14,000 years ago, is approximately 1.5 kilometres long  and over 60 metres deep.

Towards the head of the gorge, the Abhainn Droma drops over the 37 metre high Falls of Measach and downstream to join up with the River Broom.

The gorge and part of the surrounding area are managed by the National Trust for Scotland. Although there is no charge for visiting the gorge, visitors are asked to consider making a small donation for the upkeep of the suspension bridge, viewing platform and footpaths.

A car park with public conveniences is provided for sightseers.
